$35.95
Description
This book of arts integration STEM lessons teaches students multiplication & division through collaborating, creating, and performing rhythm and movement patterns. Too often, students memorize multiplication tables without developing a deep understanding of the fundamental patterns of multiplication and division. For some students, rote memorization comes so quickly that those essential connections are never made and number sense is not deepened. For others, the challenge to memorize facts that have no meaning is just too difficult. But when students experience multiplication patterns through music and movement, they see, feel, and understand math concepts in a whole new way.
Kids are up and moving during Moving Through Math. Your students will be performing rhythm and movement patterns, collaborating with partners, and driving their own learning! After enjoying active group learning, students can easily demonstrate their understanding using traditional math manipulatives, and draw and label pictures to build student portfolios.
Rhythm and Movement Cards are needed to teach the lessons in this book. You’ll also need to download the Mp3 music files for teaching the Multiplication Lines Dances in the book. When you purchase this book you’ll receive a download link that explains how to use the music files.
