TML Memory Box
Overview
A free arts integration learning activity where PreK-2 students develop recall and verbalization skills when they place their memories inside an imaginary box. First, students move and chant on a steady beat as they pretend to find and open an imaginary box. Then children take turns thinking, verbalizing, and placing their memories inside the box. After all students have shared their learning, the box is folded up and hidden. This recall and verbalization strategy can be used after any Moving Through Math lesson or Teaching the Music of Language lesson. It’s a great opportunity for educators to hear students, in their own words, express what was important or memorable to them. Just follow the downloadable PDF and video below!
